Sex and Sex Magick in the Victorian Era, a lecture by Dr. Richard KaczynskiWhen: Saturday, April 15th, 2017 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Where: Controversial Bookstore, North Park, San Diego (3063 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92104)

What:

The 19th and 20th centuries were a hotbed of discourse on intercourse which spilled over into religion and esotericism.

For this event, author and long-time occultist Dr. Kaczynski will discuss the sexual magick and mischief of Victorian era occultists. We will uncover both the literature and practice of sacred sexuality.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Breathing exercises and group marriage as taught by Thomas Lake Harris
  • The deets on the mystical wedding of Ida Craddock and an angel
  • The less than rosy relationship between sex magick pioneers Hargave Jennings and Paschal Randolph
  • Sexual mishaps of Golden Dawn wannabes
  • Aleister Crowley’s strange connection with tantric initiator, Oom the Omipotent
  • Carl Kellner’s encounter with sacred sexuality and his entry into the secret society Ordo Templi Orientis
  • The strange and compelling theories of what really happened at the Last Supper
  • These topics will be fascinating and informative for both the newbie and the well-read occultist.

Who: Dr. Richard Kaczynski has lectured internationally and is the author of Perdurabo: The Life of Aleister Crowley and Forgotten Templars: The Untold Origins of Ordo Templi Orientis, among others. Dr. Kaczynski has also been featured on television documentaries Secrets the Occult and Aleister Crowley: The Beast 666. A book signing will be held after the lecture.
